Consumo problemático de cannabis en el ámbito universitario: análisis de factores diferenciales y patrones de policonsumo.

El consumo problemático de cannabis entre estudiantes universitarios constituye un fenómeno multifactorial de creciente relevancia en salud pública, estrechamente vinculado a la precocidad en el inicio del uso de sustancias, el policonsumo y determinadas vulnerabilidades sociodemográficas. Este estudio tiene como objetivo estimar la tasa del consumo problemático de cannabis en una muestra amplia de estudiantes universitarios gallegos, así como examinar los factores diferenciales asociados —sexo y orientación sexual— y los patrones de policonsumo concomitantes. Mediante un diseño transversal, se administró un cuestionario autoinformado a 1.790 estudiantes de tres universidades públicas, incluyendo instrumentos validados (CAST, AUDIT, CRAFFT). Los resultados evidencian un porcentaje del 4,7% de consumo problemático de cannabis, significativamente mayor en varones, y un perfil de riesgo caracterizado por la iniciación precoz en el consumo de alcohol, tabaco y cannabis, así como por la alta concurrencia de otras sustancias como estimulantes, hipnosedantes y nicotina en diversas formas. Aunque las diferencias según orientación sexual no fueron estadísticamente significativas, se apreció una tendencia preocupante entre estudiantes LGTBI. Estos hallazgos subrayan la necesidad de implementar estrategias preventivas tempranas, interseccionales y culturalmente sensibles, orientadas a reducir la normalización del consumo y a fomentar entornos universitarios protectores.
