In this article, I review some of Hélène Cixous's reflections on sexual difference, with the aim of showing that in her essays of the 1970s, she takes Derrida's reflections on phallogocentrism even further. By showing the complexity and heterogeneity of her reflections, which are not always in agreement between them, I am interested in showing the path Cixous might open up to the deconstruction of phallogocentrism, as she invites us to remark the androcentric character of the desire for presence that underlies metaphysics.
