Abstract

In the spanish scene of Literary Theory, there were some allusions lo Eric Donald Hirsch, Jr., but, generally speaking, his first books were only considerated. This paper tries to explain more completely the thinking of E. D. Hirsch, Jr., by separating three phases in his work from 1967 until 1994, and by relating it wilh the main critical reponses against him. Then, discussing the works by E. D. Hirsch, Jr., proves to be one necessity in constructing a new literary hermeneutics.
