Abstract

The interview with Julián Ríos reproduced below was conducted on July 9, 2020, on the occasion of my doctoral research, dedicated to the contemporary rewritings of the Don Juan myth. Thanks to his readiness and in a very kind way, Julián Ríos has agreed to answer a series of questions related to this myth and its reworking in the present literature and cinema. The answers he has provided me with have made it easier for me to reflect on one of the most fascinating and ambiguous figures in Western culture, as well as on his novel Larva: Midsummer Night's Babel, which I consider to be one of the most representative of the so-called postmodern era. All my gratitude goes to him.
